Our lovely SGI students don’t come to London ONLY to study English with our great teachers!
People come to improve their English, yes, but they also chose London as their study destination so that they can have an amazing time in possibly the world’s most vibrant city.
Every week day, SGI has an event in the afternoon or evening for our students, so that they can continue speaking English after lessons have finished for the day.
This is what is planned for the SGI London Student Social Programme this week:
Mon 16th Feb: Meet & Greet (with teacher, Ben)
Students from anywhere and everywhere in the world chatting together over biscuits, snacks and drinks, along with “Mr Handsome” teacher, Ben 🙂
This takes place in the Word cafe right next door to the school in Margaret Street.
Meet Ben at the school door at 3pm
Tues 17th Feb: Greenwich Walk (with teacher, Owen)
The Greenwich walk with SGI’s professional walking tour guide, Owen visits The Cutty Sark ship, The River Thames, walks through one of London’s oldest foot tunnels. It takes in loads more famous London landmarks all with a running commentary from Owen, who is a one-man wikipedia of interesting information, before the walk finishes at the top of the hill in Greenwich Park, which has possibly the very best FREE view of London. 🙂
Meet Owen and his famous little doggy, Jess just outside the school at 3:15pm
Wednesday 11th Feb: Treasure Island Theatre/Musical
Treasure Island is a super famous book that most English kids read when they are young. Now, it is a musical at The National Theatre. Forget Johnny Depp and Pirates of the Caribbean: if you want to see sword fights, battles, parrots and pirate ships, this is the place to be!
Great visual fun and easy to understand if your English is not perfect yet! Make sure you reserve your place for this at reception a few days BEFORE the event, so that you guarantee yourself a ticket.
Meet teacher, Owen at the school front door at 6pm

Thurs 19th Feb: Afternoon Tea (with teacher, Marija)

We always have to book a table for this event, so the numbers are limited. If you want to join this Social Programme event, then go and put your name down at reception asap.
The food and drink cost £10 per person, or if you come along with a friend, it’s only £16 for 2 people.
Meet Marija at the school door at 3.15pm
Friday 13th Feb: Club night at Cafe De Paris
Tickets at reception: £6 (or pay £10 on the door on the night)
