Student events in London this week

Hey,

Do you want to know what the SGI students are going to be doing this week when English classes finish?

As always, we have a daily student programme lined up so that as well as improving your English with our super friendly teachers, you can also see the best of London after school has ended every day.

If you are an ex-student of SGI, please tell us (in the comments section below) which was your favourite Student Social Programme event that you went on… and why it was so cool.

Monday 19th Jan: Meet & Greet

Meet teachers Dan and Ben in front of the school at 3pm

Juice, cake and chat – it’s the best way to meet new people in the school and practice your English for free with the other students and the two teachers.

Tuesday 20th Jan: Museum of London

Meet teacher Marija outside the school front door at 3:15pm

The history of London from the ice age all the way through to the present day…. all for free. Find out everything you ever wanted to know about the world’s coolest capital city.

Wednesday 21st Jan: Soho Guided Walk

Meet teachers Owen and Louis just outside school reception at 3:15pm

A free trip around the world-famous Soho district of London. This is where the swinging sixties began and it is still one of the coolest parts of London today. Owen will tell you loads of interesting facts about this media cool area.

Thursday 22nd Jan: Memphis Musical

Meet teacher Owen outside the school front door at 7:30pm

A real hot ticket at the moment in the theatre land of London’s West End. This is a story of how blues and rock n roll clashed together in 1950’s deep south of the USA. It stars Beverly Knight and the tickets cost £26, which you must sign up for BEFORE Thursday with the girls at school reception. If you want to see the other musicals that the SGI Social Programme will be visiting in the next few weeks, see the video here

Friday 23rd Jan: Ministry of Sound Club night

Tickets at reception: £8 (or pay £22 on the door on the night)

This is not a teacher hosted event, so you have to find your own way to the club. Make sure that you look on google maps how to get to the Ministry of Sound when you leave Elephant and Castle underground station – it is not very easy to find!!!

You must take ID to get past the doormen and you can’t wear trainers. If you are not 18, don’t try to get in… they will stop you at the door!

Weekend: Excursions around the UK

Information at reception

There are lots of options to see other UK cities with Anderson Excursions Bus tours. If you want to take a a break from London and go to Oxford, Cambridge, Bath or even Stonehenge, ask the girls at the school reception for more info on these 1 day UK city breaks.
