Mon 6th April: Meet & Greet

Monday is a national holiday in the UK for Easter (it's called a 'Bank Holiday'), so the school is only open for half a day. Therefore, the social programme event for today takes place at the earlier time of 1pm. We will all meet in the computer area where there will be lots of free chocolate Easter eggs on offer to help people get in the mood to chat in the Meet & Greet event for new and old students.

Meet in the school computer area at 1pm

Tues 7th April: Play Pool

Play pool with an SGI teacher and other students at All Star Lanes in Brick Lane, which is a trendy street full of cool shops and restaurants near Liverpool Street Station in the East of London.

Speak in English and have a drink while you're playing and then everyone can have a meal together in the same venue, to keep the conversation going.

Meet outside the front of the school at 3:45pm

Wednesday 8th April: Theatre trip – The Mousetrap

It's 1952 in a mansion house in the English countryside and there's been a murder! The Mousetrap is a classic story by the famous crime author, Agatha Christie (who also invented Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple) which has been continuously showing at St Martin's Theatre in London's West End since it opened 63 years ago! It's a classic and one that you should not miss if you want a real taste of English culture.

The normal ticket price is £50 or more, which is quite expensive, but SGI students only pay £20 for a ticket!!!

Meet teacher, Owen outside the school at 6:30pm

Thurs 9th April: Guided Walk (with teacher, Owen)

Owen, the resident professional tour guide and teacher at SGI, and his dog will take you on a tour of the East End of London, where you will hear about London's most famous serial killer (from 1888), Jack the Ripper.

Owen's walks always get great feedback from students and these walks are information-packed and really a great way to learn about London's history and also to practise your English listening skills with Owen's clear British accent. You can also get a cuddle from Owen's cute dog, Jess, who accompanies him on every guided walk.

Meet Owen and his dog, Jess outside the school at 3:30pm

Friday 10th April: Camden Pub Crawl and Proud Camden

Camden is one of those cool districts of London that every visitor should go to while they are in the world's coolest capital city. On the Camden Pub Crawl, you will visit 6 or 7 different pubs. Then afterwards you can see live music with some of London's hippest bands at Proud London

You must be 18 for these events and bring I.D, with you to prove your age. Ask at reception for more details on these events,
